Activities to suit all

Abbeywood provides activities to suit all our resident’s needs.
We now recognise that most people being admitted into Abbeywood suffer from some form of dementia. Our senior staff have achieved qualifications in this area enabling us to provide and assist our residents with a range of activities that are suited to their individual needs and abilities.

Activities we include are – iPad activities, baking, Skype with relatives, gardening, reminiscence sessions, exercise to music, sing-a-long, Wii Games, bingo, board games, word searches, crosswords, colouring, hand massages and nail care.

Around the home are Dementia friendly activities for e.g. a noughts and Crosses board on the wall in one of the corridors, we also have a latch board and outside some of the residents own rooms we now have memory boxes.

Elton High School

We are also very lucky to have a teacher and a group of pupils from Elton High School who come into the home every Thursday morning to do Arts and Craft with our residents.

One to one care

Abbeywood provides excellent one to one care for all residents and carry out different activities dependent on their needs.
